Reference sources

This archive draws on the work of many people across the M&N collector community and the broader baseball uniform research world. Where individual records cite a specific source on the jersey detail page, that supersedes anything listed here.

  • Mitchell & Ness Nostalgia Co. — original producer of every jersey catalogued here. Founded 1904, baseball authentics line started late 80s under Peter Capolino. The Old Gold era refers to the pre-2008 production runs.
  • The Kit Archive — comprehensive historical reference for what teams actually wore, year by year.
  • Dressed to the Nines — the Baseball Hall of Fame's illustrated database of MLB uniforms across history.
  • MLBCollectors.com — collector reference for verifying production runs and tag evolution.
  • Baseball-Reference — the authoritative source for player biographical and statistical context referenced on player pages.
  • Mitchell & Ness collector groupson Facebook, Reddit, and Instagram — much of what isn't in any official record lives in collective community memory there.
  • Mitchell & Ness 2003–2006 catalogs— visual reference for this site's typography, layout, and tone. Particularly the Feb. 2004 catalog page that informed the watermark, framing, and palette.

Team logos throughout this site are sourced from SportsLogos.Net — the most comprehensive open archive of historical and current sports logos. Logos are properties of their respective teams and leagues; we display them under the same fair-use research convention that SportsLogos.Net itself relies on.

When jersey photos credit a specific contributor, photographer, or source (auction listing, M&N catalog scan, fan submission), the credit appears on that individual jersey's detail page. The Special Callouts list above is for contributors who preferred collective acknowledgement over individual credits.
